Abstrak
Examines a demonstration project that applied problem-oriented policing strategies to resolving drug problems in five cities. Each city was provided with training & on site technical assistance to help officers identify & analyze specific neighborhood drug problems. For example, officers were assisted in determining all relevant factors of drug sales in a certain location; what type of drugs were sold, during what specific time, & by whom. The project revealed underlying social & economic conditions contributing to drug problems.
