UJI EFEK ANTIINFLAMASI EKSTRAK ETANOL BIJI LAMTORO (Leucaena leucocephala L.) TERHADAP UDEM TELAPAK KAKI MENCIT YANG DIINDUKSI KARAGENIN

2018•Artikel Penelitian dan Pengabdian

A study on antiinflammatory activity of ethanol extract of wild tamarind (Leucaena leucocephala L.) was done on mice (Mus musculus). Wild tamarind has been known by the Indonesian people for generations to treat swelling. This study was conducted to determine whether the ethanol extract of wild tamarind seeds can be efficacious as anti-inflammatory and to know the optimum dose of extract that can be efficacious as anti-inflammatory. Antiinflammatory activity test was performed by the method of formation of artificial inflammation on the soles of male white mice. The study was conducted using 15 mice divided into 5 groups of treatment with the criterion aged 2-3 months weighing 20-30 g. The test was performed using 3 different doses of wild tamarind seed extract which were 200 mg / 20 g BW, 400 mg / 20 g BW and 600 mg / 20 g BW. Based on research, the largest percentage of inflammation is at a dose of 200 mg / 20 g BW and the smallest inflammatory inflammation at a dose of 600 mg / 20 g BW. Data from inflammatory measurements were tested statistically using LSD method with group dose result 200 mg / 20 g BW did not have potency potency as antiinflammatory agent and group dose 400 mg / 20 g BW and dose 600 mg / 20 g BW has potential benefits as anti-inflammatory.
